Recycling fees 1.1.2025 onwards

20.11.2024

The recycling fee for cans will decrease by 50%. Recycling fees for PET bottles will decrease by 20% in all recycling fee categories. The reduction in fees is made possible by the favorable development of global market prices for recycled materials.

Recycling fees for glass bottles will increase by 15% in all recycling fee categories. The increase is caused by the decrease in recycling fee revenues as sales volumes decline, as well as the general rise in costs. Additionally, there have been discrepancies in the reporting of glass bottle sales, independent of Palpa, which may cause upward pressure on recycling fees during 2025.

The can recycling fee increases from €0.00525 -> €0.00971. The increase is due to the decrease in the world market price of aluminum, which causes a significant decrease in sales revenue of the material.

Plastic bottle recycling fees will increase in all recycling fee categories. The increase is due to the drop in the world market price of recycled plastic, which causes a significant decrease in sales revenue of the material.

Glass bottle recycling fees will increase in all recycling fee categories. This is caused by an increase in the costs of transportation and plant processing (fuel, wages, energy, interest).
